THE GNS EXCELLENCY FUND

Our Goal for 2003
Nova Scotia gymnasts work hard every day with coaches and judges to become future National, Work and Olympic Level performers.  A first landmark in this long journey for our competitive gymnasts is membership on the provincial team, either for the Atlantic or Eastern Championships in the artistic stream or for the National Championships for the trampoline and tumbling stream.  This is a stepping-stone to other national and international competitions.  Being on these teams, our youth become ambassadors of the province and are afforded opportunities to excel on a larger stage.  Unfortunately, GNS currently does not have the wherewithal to province financial support to all who deserve it.

The Nova Scotia gymnastic family's current objective is to raise at least $10, 000 a year through the Excellency Fund Program.  Donors may designate their donations to either a champions' fund or an education fund.  The champions' fund will help our Provincial Team athletes with the costs of traveling to represent the province of Nova Scotia; the education fund will allow our judges  and coaches to receive the proper certification levels without having to travel to another province.   We know that many of you are already contributing generously to support our sport, and your past and current contribution is sincerely appreciated.  As you know, Gymnastics is an incredibly demanding and challenging sport, and we want to be able to assist the athletes, coaches and judges who all work very hard to represent the province.

We are asking you to kindly contribute by making a tax-deductible donation ($20 or more) to the Excellency Fund.  We value your precious support to the Gymnastics Nova Scotia Provincial Teams or the judges and coaches through the Education Fund.  With your consent, you will be listed on the GNS Excellency Fund section of the GNS Website.  Along with this recognition you will be sent a small GNS token as a keepsake, and be added to our e-mail newsletter distribution list if you so wish.  Whatever your contribution, it will make a difference to each and every gymnast who will represent Nova Scotia.

Thank you for your support.

GNS would like to acknowledge all those who have generously contributed to the GNS Excellency Fund:
